The design of the Chamber of combustion and the Squish area has been optimized for maximum sports performance. FZ1 compression rate is 11.5: 1. Redline is set at 12 000 rpm and has a "soft" rev limiter to protect the engine.

The actual injectors are Denso injection of type "long nose" with high dynamic range and spray 4 holes for power and response across the range full rev.

Box 8.2 litres air designed with intake air temperature sensor maximizes the performance. Thick paper type air filter used.

Fuel injection electronic control unit (ECU) light uses a 32-bit processor that is strong for the control of the injection process. The compact design also reduces weight.

Valve power ultimate patented Yamaha for exhaust (EXUP) monitors the engine rpm and adjusts the flow of exhaust for optimal performance at all RPM with no flat places. The system also to optimize fuel consumption and reduce emissions.

4-2 in 1 exhaust system consists of a stainless steel exhaust and a short silent and quiet design. Header pipe length has been optimized for the delivery of the maximum power. The system is equipped with two catalyziers 3 - way honeycomb with oxygen sensors to reduce harmful exhaust CO and HC emissions.
